Tasty Sweet Kesari is a delicious South Indian dessert. This is prepared with Sooji  Rava, sugar and ghee. I have prepared this for  Navratri  Pooja  as Prasadam to God .
This festival special recipe is very easy to prepare and gets done under 15 minutes with minimal ingredients.
Its optional to use saffron soaked in milk for orange color, instead of using orange food color. And adding sugar is up to your taste.
Give a try to this Rava Kesari dessert and please your sweet teeth…:)
Ingredients:
  • Rava /  Sooji                             - 1 cup
  • Sugar                                       - 1 cup
  • Milk                                          - 1 ½ cup
  • Ghee                                        - 5 to 6 tbsp
  • Cashew nuts & Raisins              - as per taste
  • Cardamom pwd                         - a pinch
  • Orange food color                     - ½ tsp
  • Water                                        - ½ cup
Method
  1. Heat 3 tbsp of ghee in a fry pan.
  2. Fry cashews and raisins to golden.
  1. Keep it aside.
  2. Now fry Rava, sauté it till nice aroma comes out and turns light brown color.
  1. Take it aside.
  2. Add milk, sugar  and water.
  3. Allow to boil with stirring.
  1. Add  Rava little by little, and keep stirring.
  2. Make sure no lumps are formed.
  1. Add  orange food color and mix.
  2. Drizzle the remaining ghee as well.
  1. Stir continuously till it turns thick in halwa consistency.
  2. Add roasted cashew , raisins and cardamom pwd.
  1. Tasty Sweet Kesari is ready to enjoy..!
