Chilly Chicken with Capsicum

Print Friendly and PDF

Chilly Chicken with Capsicum:

If you’re looking for a spicy & easy to prepare chilly chicken with a lot of flavor, try this recipe. This is a recipe shared in by my friend  Arshia , who makes excellent non-veg dishes.  I gave a try yesterday, and it was very tasty and aroma was amazing.

If you don’t like it too hot, half the chillies. But, try it first,  the lime juice takes away a lot of heat.  It makes a delicious appetizer or snack for get-to-gether parties.  Also it tastes great with fried rice, noodles, roti, naan or chapatti..

Here goes the quick and easy recipe of tasty chicken chilly..:)

Ingredients:

For Marination:
  • Chicken boneless                      - ½ kg
  • Lemon juice                              - 1 tbsp
  • Corn flour                                 - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste                    - 1 tsp
  • Chilly chicken pwd                     - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to fry
For the Gravy:

  • Onion                           - 2
  • Ginger garlic chopped   - 1 tbsp
  • Green chilly                   - 3
  • Spring onion chopped   -  2 tbsp
  • Capsicum                     - 1
  • Celery chopped             -  ¼ cup
  • Chilli sauce                   - 1 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup              - 2 tsp
  • Soya sauce                   - 1 ½ tsp

  1. Wash and marinate the chicken pieces in the marinade for 2 to 3 hours.
  1. Heat oil in a fry pan.
  2. Deep fry the chicken pieces to crisp.
  1. Chop onion, capsicum and green chilly.
  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Sauté finely chopped ginger garlic and green chillies.
  3. Now add chopped onion, spring onion, capsicum and celery.
  4. Sauté till onion is tender.
  5. Add chilli sauté, tomato ketchup, soya sauce, sugar, pepper and salt.
  6. Stir well.
  7. Add chicken stock and combine.
  8. Now add fried chicken pieces.
  9. Mix corn flour with little water and add this paste. ( if you don’t want gravy, skip this step )
