Ingredients

Rice flour - 1 & 1/2 cup

Fried gram | Pottukadalai Varukadalai flour - 1/2 cup

Cumin - 1 tsp

Sesame seed - 2 tsp

Hing | asafoetida pwd - 1/4 tsp

Butter - 1 tbsp

Oil to deep fry

Salt to taste

Instructions

1.

Roast fried gram in a dry pan in medium heat. and grind to smooth pwd

Allow to cool and grind to smooth powder.

3.

Seive to remove small lumps.

4.

In a mixing bowl, add rice flour, fried gram flour, salt and mix.

5.

To this add cumin seeds, sesame seeds, hing and combine.

6.

Sprinkle water and knead to smooth soft dough.

7.

Add butter and knead.

8.

Let the dough sit for 5 mins.

9.

Grease murukku mould with oil as shown in video.

10.

Stuff batter into murukku mould and squeeze to circles in a greased plate.

11.

Heat oil in a fry pan.

12.

Add squeezed murukku or (squeeze murukku directly in hot as shown in video) and deep fry.

13.

Don't overcrowd oil.

14.

Deep fry 5 to 6 murukku in batches.

15.

Once the murukku turns crispy and golden on both sides, drain in a kitchen tissue.

16.

Crispy crunchy delilcious Pottukadalai murukku is ready.
