Today’s post is favorite street food of India  -  Chana Masala Chaat. Its very easy to make and is a lipsmacking tasty treat of everyone. Its one of the most healthy Indian Chaat recipes that is popular all over the world. Lets learn to make this delicious chana masala chaat recipe from north India.
Similar Recipes:
·         Chana / Chickpeas         - 1 cup
·         Turmeric pwd                 - a pinch
·         Tea bag                            - 1
·         Onion                               - 1
·         Tomato                            -2 to 3
·         Green chilly                     - 2
·         Ginger garlic grated       - 1 tbsp
·         Oil                                    - 1 tbsp
·         Red chilly pwd                - 1 tsp
·         Coriander pwd                - 2 tsp
·         Garam masala pwd        - ½ tsp
·         Amchur pwd                   - ½ tsp
·         Salt to taste
To Garnish:
·         Yoghurt                            - 1 to 2 tbsp
·         Sliced onions                   - 1 tbsp
·         Sliced tomatoes              -1 tbsp            
·         Red chilly pwd                - ¼ tsp
·         Cumin pwd                      - ¼ tsp
·         Chaat masala pwd          - ½ tsp
·         Lemon juice                    - few drops
·         Salt to taste
·         Fresh coriander leaves
1.       Wash and soak the chickpeas overnight.
2.      Add the soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker and add enough water.
3.      Add salt, turmeric pwd and a tea bag.
4.      Pressure cook for 4 to 5 whistles or until the chana is cooked soft.
5.      Meanwhile chop the onion, tomato, green chilly and coriander leaves.
6.      Grate ginger and garlic and keep ready.
7.      Add onions, tomato, coriander leaves to a blender and grind to smooth paste.
8.      Heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel.
9.      Add cumin and wait to splutter.
10.   Add grated ginger and garlic and toss for a minute.
11.    Add sliced onions and fry till golden.
12.   Add the paste and mix well.
13.   Add turmeric pwd, red chilly pwd, coriander pwd and salt.
14.   Add ½ cup of water and cook covered.
15.   Once the masala thickens, add the cooked channa.
16.   Mix well and let it cook in low flame for 5 mins.
17.   Sprinkle garam masala pwd, amchur pwd and turn off flame.
18.   Delicious Chana masala is ready.
Lets see how to arrange the chaat in serving plate.
1.       Take a serving plate and add 8 to 10 tbsp of hot chole along with masala.
2.      Add a tbsp of thick yoghurt over it.
3.      Throw in some finely sliced onions and tomato.
5.      Sprinkle some red chilly pwd, cumin pwd and chaat masala pwd.
6.      Finally garnish with some freshly chopped coriander leaves and some sev.
7.      Squeeze few drops of lemon juice.
8.      Lipsmacking good Punjabi chana masala chaat is ready to serve.
