Capsicum is one of my favorite veggie, as they can be cooked in no time and readily goes into any dish. The crunchy taste and awesome flavor of capsicum enhances any curry or masala to which it is added. Today’s recipe is a healthy n tasty capsicum peas masala. It’s a very easy to make recipe and this delicious gravy can be enjoyed with any Indian bread, pulao or rice dishes.

Ingredients

Capsicum - 1

Peas - 1 cup

Oil - 1 tbsp

Cumin seeds - ½ tsp

Onion - 1

Hing - a pinch

Red chilly pwd - 1 tsp

Turmeric pwd - a pinch

Coriander pwd - 1 tsp

Garam masala pwd- ½ tsp

Ginger garlic paste- 1 tsp

Tomato - 1

Chat masala pwd - ¼ tsp

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander leaves

Instructions

1.

Wash and slice onions to fine pieces

2.

Slice capsicum and tomato to cubes

3.

Heat oil in a frypan

4.

Add cumin seeds, wait to splutter

5.

Add finely sliced onions, hing and saute till light brown

6.

Add red chilly pwd, turmeric pwd, coriander pwd, garam masala pwd and salt

7.

Add green peas and stir

8.

Add 1/2 cup of water and cook for few minutes

You can see the peas are well cooked

Now add fresh ginger garlic paste

Saute in low flame for a minute

Stir well

13.

Add capsicum cubes

14.

Mix well and add tomato slices

15.

Cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes

Take care the capsicum should maintain its crispness and not to be cooked soggy

Allow to cook in low flame till the masala thickens

18.

Sprinkle chat masala pwd

19.

Add finely sliced coriander leaves and turn off the flame

20.
