Ingredients:
For Masala:

Kabuli Chana / Garbanzo beans - 1 cup
·
Oil - 2 tbsp
·
Cumin -
½ tsp

Garam masala pwd -
½ tsp
·
Chana masala pwd -
2 tsp
·
Red chilly pwd - ½ tsp
·
Coriander leaves
·
Salt to taste
To Prepare Chana
Samosa
·
Samosa -
2 no.s
·
Mint chutney -
1 tbsp
·
Tomato ketchup - 1 tbsp
·
Tamarind chutney -
½ tbsp
·
Chilly sauce -
1 tsp
·
Yoghurt -
1 tbsp (optional)
·
Chopped onions - 1 tbsp
·
Chopped tomato - 1 tbsp
·
Sev - 1 tbsp
·
Chat masala pwd - ¼ tsp
·
Chopped coriander leaves
Method:To prepare Chana Masala:
1. Wash and soak chana overnight.
2. Drain the water and add the chana to
pressure cooker.
3. Add 1 cup of water and cook until the
chana is cooked well.
4. Keep it aside.
5. Heat oil in a frypan.
6. Add cumin seeds and wait to splutter.
7. Add finely sliced onions and fry till
transculent.
8. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a
minute.
9. Add tomato puree and mix.
10. Add garam masala pwd, chat masala pwd,
chana masala pwd, red chilly pwd and salt.
11. Mix and cook in low flame until the
masala thickens and oil separates.
12. Now add the cooked chana along with the
water.
13. Stir well.
14. Taste and adjust salt and seasonings.
15. Simmer the flame and cover the masala
with the lid.
16. Allow it to rest for 10 mins.
17. Now turn off the flame.
18. Add finely chopped coriander leaves.
19. Now flavorful chana masala is ready. (
you can have this tasty masala as a side dish for idly, dosa, parotta, etc
also)
To make Samosa chana
chat:
21. Crush it well.
22. Pour the prepared chana masala over the
crushed samosa.
23. Top it with mint chutney, tomato ketchup,tamarind chutney, yoghurt and chilly sauce.
24. Finally garnish with finely chopped
onions, coriander leaves and sev.
25. Sprinkle chat masala pwd.
26. That’s it…lipsmacking good Samosa Chana
Chat is ready.
27. Enjoy hot for evening tea time snacks.
