Dear Friends, Diwali - the joyous festival that brings fun, prosperity, togetherness and light into our lives is ahead. Diwali, marks the triumph of good over evil and dispels darkness. This family festival is a source of joy for everyone, including kids. Children and youth look eagerly waiting for the arrival of the festival to burst crackers. Unfortunately, improper handling and playing with fireworks, may lead to unexpected accidents. Lets all celebrate a safe & accident free Diwali by following these simple precautions..! Wish you all a safe Diwali..:)

Do’s: An adult should always supervise children while they light fireworks. Light only one firework at a time. Follow all safety precautions issued along with the fireworks. Make sure you buy fireworks from a licensed shop. Always keep the fireworks in a closed box. Store crackers away from sources of light or ignition . Also keep them away from the reach of children. Light fireworks only outdoors. Always use candle or agarbathi to ignite crackers. While lighting the crackers, stand at an arm’s length from the cracker. Keep fire extinguisher or bucket of water handy. Discard used fireworks in a bucket of water. Wear closed footwear & close-fitting clothes of thick material instead of loose garments. Consult an ophthalmologist immediately in case of eye injuries. Keep burn ointments handy. Flying fireworks ( rockets, fancy crackers, missiles etc.,) should always be lighted in open grounds pointing straight up.

Don’t’s Never ignite fireworks while holding them in hands. Never give fireworks to small children. Never make fireworks at home or never mix anything with the contents of fireworks. Don’t allow children to throw lightled crackers or sparklers at others. Don’t allow them to light fireworks indoors. Never carry fireworks in your pocket. Never use fireworks inside a vehicle. Do not put fireworks in any container to ignite. Don’t try to light used fireworks. Never let children bend over fireworks while lighting them, or approach them in the doubt, they are live or not. Don’t burn crackers in crowded places, narrow lanes or near sources of fire. Lets follow the simple steps of caution, and enjoy the joyous occasion of Diwali Festival
