Here comes the instant & delicious Indian dessert recipe Bread gulab jamun. It is one of the popular sweet that is made for festivals and special occasions. This easy jamun recipe is prepared with bread and milk and makes it hard to tell the difference if it is made with mawa / khoya & it tastes equally delicious. This Jamun recipe is a sooper hit with the children. Lets see how to make bread gulab jamun with this easy video recipe.

Ingredients

Bread slices - 6 to 8

Milk - 2 to 3 tbsp

Sugar - 1 cup

Water - 3/4 cup

Cardamom pwd - a pinch

Saffron strands - a few

Chopped nuts to garnish

Instructions

1.

Take bread slices and trim the edges.

2.

Tear the bread to small pieces.

3.

Add few tsps of whole milk little by little to bread pieces.

4.

Knead to smooth dough.

5.

Take care the dough consistency to be smooth & soft. It shouldn't the watery or thick.

Make small balls out of dough.

7.

Set it aside.

8.

Lets prepare sugar syrup.

9.

Add 1 cup of sugar to bowl.

10.

Add 3/4 cup of water and stir.

Heat the bowl in low medium flame.

12.

Dissolve sugar by stirring.

13.

Add cardamom pwd and saffron strands.

14.

Boil the sugar water until it turns oily consistency.

15.

Sugar syrup is ready. Turn off flame.

Heat oil in frypan.

Once the oil is hot, add the jamun balls and deep fry in low flame.

Once the jamun turns golden & crispy, as shown in video, drain and remove from oil.

Add the jamuns to hot sugar syrup.

20.

Mix well.

21.

Let the jamuns soak in sugar syrup for minimum 1 hour.

22.

That's it soft & yummy, melt in mouth bread gulab jamun is ready.

Serve warm or chilled. Garnish with chopped nuts.
