Prawn Fry / Spicy Prawn Masala

Prawns are very popular sea food...!!!
This Indian dry Prawn Fry recipe requires almost no effort, coz prawns have such a short cooking time. If you are a sea food lover, then the very talk of spicy prawn fry , is sure to make mouth watering…!!!
It serves great as a side dish with Rice dishes or with chapatti..!
Not only Prawn fry is a tasty dish, it is  a healthy sea food dish also...!
Prawns are an excellent source of protein and a great way to add iron, zinc, Iodine, Phosphorous, Omega 3 fatty acids to our body.  And have smaller quantities of calcium, magnesium and sodium.
Also loaded with Vit B ; E , which are essential for healthy skin, bones and teeth..!.
Here is the very popular  Prawn fry recipe for you…
Ingredients:
  • Prawns                         - ½ kg
  • Oil                                - 4 tbsp
  • Onion                           - 2
  • Tomato                         - 2
  • Ginger garlic paste        - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric pwd                - ½ tsp
  • Red chilly pwd              - 1 ½ tbsp
  • Coriander pwd               - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper pwd                  - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry and coriander leaves
Method:
  1. Wash prawns and marinate with salt , turmeric pwd and  red chilly  pwd..
  2. Set aside for 15 mins.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.
  4. Add chopped onion and sauté to transculent.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell disappears.
  6. Add mashed tomato and cook until oil separates.
  7. Now add turmeric pwd, salt, red chilly pwd, pepper pwd, coriander pwd and stir well.
  8. Add little water and allow to boil for few minutes.
  9. Add the marinated prawns and stir in the masala.
  10. Add ½ cup water and place the lik and cook covered.
  11. Add fresh coriander leaves and stir well.
  12. Allow to cook in low flame for 5 mins.
  13. Open lid and check for prawns are completely cooked.
  14. Simmer the flame and fry well, till the masala thickens.

Serve hot with white steamed rice or chapathi…:)
