Mutter Paneer masala is a delicious North Indian curry. It is very popular and probably the most frequently ordered side dish in Indian restaurants. This dish is made of green peas and paneer, which are rich in protein, calcium, minerals and fibre. The paneer cubes are stir fried in butter and soaked in a rich tomato based gravy, and it is a favorite for all those who love paneer. It combines excellent with Chapatis, parathas, naan and jeera rice…!!! Happy to share this all time favorite Mutter Paneer Masala recipe with you..:)

Ingredients

Paneer - 250 g

Green peas / mutter - 1 cup

Tomato - 3

Onion - 2

Butter - 1 tbsp

Oil - 2 tbsp

Cumin - ½ tsp

Cloves - 3 to 4

Cardamom - 1

Cinnamon - 1

Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp

Turmeric pwd - ¼ tsp

Coriander pwd - 1 tbsp

Red chilly pwd - 2 tbsp

Curd / yoghurd - ½ cup

Garam masala pwd - ½ tbsp

Salt to taste

Fresh coriander leaves

Instructions

1.

Make a puree out of tomato in a blender.

2.

Grind onions to fine paste and keep aside.

3.

Heat a tbsp of butter in a frying pan.

4.

Gently stir fry the paneer cubes to golden.

5.

Remove and keep aside.

6.

Add 2 tbsp of oil in the same pan and heat

7.

Add cumin, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.

8.

Allow to crackle.

9.

Now add onion paste and sauté well.

10.

Add ginger garlic paste and fry for another 2 mins.

Add tomato puree and stir well in medium flame.

12.

Now add turmeric pwd, coriander pwd, salt and red chilly pwd.

13.

Allow to boil, by stirring continuously , till oil separates.

14.

Now add green peas and mix.

15.

Add little water and allow to cook covered.

16.

Beat the curd to smooth texture and add to masala.

17.

Combine well.

18.

Add garam masala pwd and fried paneer cubes.

19.

Reduce flame to simmer, and cook till the gravy thickens

20.

Remove from heat.

21.

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

22.

Serve hot with chapattis, parathas, naan and jeera rice.
